“Introduction to Subject Didactics” winter semester 2024/25 by Eva Greisberger & Pia Scharler
1st Edition

“How to Not Fuck Up Your School Happiness” is a continuously growing publication by you – for you. Focusing on the aspects of collaboration and diversity in art education, students developed a didactic landscape for art-based, practice-oriented subjects. This project took place during the winter semester 2024/25 under the guidance of Eva Greisberger and Pia Scharler, as part of the course “Einführung in die Fachdidaktik” (Introduction to Art Didactics). In doing so, students explored self-chosen topics and protagonists from art and design didactics and connected disciplines, aiming to discover and get to know the potential and diverse approaches these figures offer.

This didactic landscape has been transformed into a small publication that not only aims to provide an “in a nutshell” overview, but also reflects multiperspective approaches of its representatives and the wide range of possibilities within subject-specific teaching practices. “How to Not Fuck Up Your School Happiness” is meant to accompany you throughout your studies and later support you in schools and other educational contexts—always highlighting the richness and complexity of didactic practice.
